Being offered for sale is the LARGE & HEAVY antique REPLICA 'BENIN BRONZE' (the original bronzes that decorated the royal palace date back to the 13th century) AFRICAN CAST BRASS or BRONZE STATUE (standing man with unusual hair, exaggerated facial features, positioned with both arms laterally raised & bent at elbows (palms facing out) atop a stylized platform base that features a bow & arrow symbol at front (see pics) and (4) mounting holes at corners) by unknown maker (no visible signature/maker's mark(s) - best guess is the people of the Kingdom of Benin (current day Nigeria)), from circa the mid -to- late 19th century (best guess - see last picture for very similar yet completely different statue from the 17th/18th century), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. CONDITION NOTES:

Very Good/VG+ antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear (small dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, stains, etc.) throughout but NO major breaks or repairs. Small split/crack at left elbow (see red arrow in 5th pic). Back-left corner "foot" is either bent or was cast approx. 1/4" too high, giving the statue a little lean to the back-left (see pics). Simply outstanding, ultra rich patina throughout. Extraordinary 18th/19th century example!! See pics.
