ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Being offered for sale is the antique FINGER-JOINTED HARDWOOD ARTIST'S / PAINTER'S TRAVEL BOX by unknown maker (marked "ROGERS" at inner lid, see 1st & 4th pics - but that's possibly/likely the original/previous owner's name), from circa the mid -to- late 19th  century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!

CONDITION NOTES:

Good/Very Good antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear (i.e. many small, medium & large scuffs, scratches, stains, dings, dents, etc.) throughout but we  see NO major breaks or repairs. LOCK DOES NOT WORK & NO KEY INCLUDED. Top-sidewall of lid hinged and looks like it once folded out but is 'frozen' in place by time & elements. Hook latches hold lid well. Palette has crack at finger hole (see pics 1, 2 & 3). It remains strong. One of the pallet-holding 'clips' is missing but the one remaining holds it in place just fine. One original hook-latch remains but the other is a more modern replacement. Leather handle looks both original and in surprisingly good shape. Feels pretty strong but handling with caution is advised. Box is structurally rigid & ultra strong, thanks to the dense hardwood wood and high quality finger-jointed corners. Features extraordinarily superb, rich patina throughout. All-in-all, an extraordinary old chest with extraordinary eye-appeal!! See pics.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:

Measures 17-5/8" long x 13-3/8" wide x 4" deep/thick, when closed. Please see ruler in pictures for size/scale reference. Additional measurements shall be provided upon request. Weighs 5 lbs. 9.5 oz..
