Homemade
Antique HOMEMADE OIL CAN TOOL BOX Crude & Unusual IRON NIPPLE-TOP Old Red Paint!
Out of stock
Tool Boxes, Chests
Being offered for sale is the antique HOMEMADE TOOL BOX (presumably for storing an oil can and another tool within the (2) divided spots inside) with an unusual dome/nipple-top (again, presumably for the oil can spout) by unknown maker (no visible maker's mark(s)), from circa the mid -to- late 19th or very early 20th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
Good antique condition with moderate -to- severe overall wear from normal use and exposure to the elements over the years but remains structurally rigid & strong. The bottom of one side panel is broken & missing (see pictures 6, 7, 9 & 11). The panel is held in place by the now exposed nails but is a bit loose & wobbly. Some splintering at back panel near the damaged side panel. Again, despite the damage, the box remains solid & strong. Simply outstanding, ultra rich patina throughout, including some very old faded red paint. Incredible, super weird tool box!! See pics.
Measures 15-1/4" wide x 5-1/2" deep x 5-3/8" tall, excluding nipple and 8" tall, overall. Weighs 3 lbs. 15.5 oz..
