Being offered for sale is the antique "THE CHAPIN" FOLDING COMBINATION RULE (full bound boxwood & brass, with inclinometer, level, bevel, square & 12" rule) No. 036 by "STEPHENS CO." from circa the mid -to- late 19th century (as per the January 12, 1858 patent date), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.

CONDITION NOTES:

Good/VG antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall cosmetic wear throughout but NO breaks or repairs. Some rust and pitting to steel. Boxwood and brass are in great shape. Entire piece features very nice patina. All-in-all a fantastic example of a hard to find combo rule!! See pics.

 

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:

Measures 12" long when folded out and approx. 6-1/2" when closed. Weighs 6.0 oz..
