Draw Knives
Being offered for sale is the antique DRAW KNIFE by L. & I.J. WHITE (very worn, virtually illegible maker's mark at blade - we are like 99% sure we see the the typical oval White 1837 logo), of Buffalo, New York, circa the mid -to- late 19th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned (except at/around the maker's mark, which was lightly wire-wheeled as required to determine manufacturer). May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
Good/VG antique condition with minor-to- moderate overall wear from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Blade is very sharp and has just a tiny nick at one corner (see pics) but otherwise very smooth & even. Moderate rust and pitting throughout. Original/previous owner's initials "A.D." stamped in two places, immediately left & right at topside of blade (hard to see - barely visible in the pictures). Both solid wood handles are secure and strong. Features superbly rich patina to all materials throughout. See pics.
Measures 18-1/2" wide, overall, handle to handle x 6" tall, overall. Blade is 9-1/4" wide x 1" tall. Weighs 1 lb. 10.0 oz..
