Being offered for sale is the VERY RARE "SPRING TONGS" (intended for general laboratory use but utilized for a wide array of other uses, such as; coal tongs, comb makers' tongs, long roller tongs and as a general purpose grabber tool, just to name a few examples) by "HENRY BOKER" (partial stamp markings at each hand - see 2nd & 3rd pics - also known as "HEINRICH BOKER"...Henry being the English translation of the German name Heinrich) of Germany, circa 1837-1869 (best guess based on the limited reliable information found on this company), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. CONDITION NOTES:

Very Good/VG+ antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Fully functional tongs. Light rust throughout (either it was very well cared for over the past (+/-)150 years or possibly cleaned in the not so distant past). Minimal pitting throughout. Excellent 'spring' remains. Both hands are stamped with partial maker's marks but enough to determine the maker as "Henry Boker" (see 2nd & 3rd pics). All-in-all, a fantastic example of incredibly rare German spring tongs!! See pics.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:

Measures 19" long, overall, in resting position. Also in resting position, hands/fingers are 6" apart. Hands are 1-7/8" wide x 3" long. Total weight is 1 lb. 3.0 oz..
