1 In stock
Box Top / Container Window
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Being offered for sale is the vintage, nearly antique "SUNSHINE BISCUITS" DRUG/GENERAL STORE CONTAINER WINDOW/DOOR / ADVERTISING BOX-TOP/LID for the "LOOSE-WILES BISCUIT COMPANY" from circa the 1920's or 1930's (as per partially legible maker's mark at left-side wall, see last 2 pics), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
CONDITION NOTES:
Good/VG antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear throughout (small dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, stains, etc.) from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Also, areas of minor -to- moderate rust throughout. Glass is original and free of chips or cracks. Hinge is solid & strong. Original black, red litho/border graphics remain and off-white text is clearly visible at both top & bottom. Maker's stamp at left-side wall is mostly visible but the maker's name & patent date are hard to read (best guesses "NUSSAK_ _ CAN CO." & "...5-12-36..." - see last 2 pics). All in all, a nice example of a hard to find lithography tin & glass box-top-lid/container door/window. See pics.
DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:
Measures 10-3/8" square (at outer edge of base/rim) x 1-5/8" thick, overall. Weighs 1 lb. 8.0 oz..
