Being offered for sale is the antique HENRY DISSTON & SONS of Philadelphia, P.A., "MADE FOR HAMMACHER SCHLEMMER" of New York City, N.Y., 14 PPI MITER/TENON/BACK-SAW from circa 1896-1917 (as per internet research), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. Blade has some wavy sections (located approx. 1/4 the way up from tip of blade, see red arrows in last picture). Otherwise, Very Good/VG+ antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall cosmetic wear throughout. The apple wood handle is in great shape with NO damage to horns and original brass medallion is lovely. Handle is tightly secured to blade with zero play/wobble. Blade has minor -to- moderate cosmetic blemishes but virtually zero rust and extremely minimal pitting. Both the incised Disston marking & Hammacher etching are crisp and clearly visible. Blade has NO broken or bent teeth but edge is on the dull-side. All-in-all, a fantastic example of a gorgeous old back-saw!! See pics.
Measures 15" long, overall. Blade is 10" long and has 14 points/tips per inch. Weighs 14.2 oz..
