Being offered for sale is the VERY RARE antique "ENTERPRISE" by "JACOB BROS. MAKERS" (also marked "N.Y.C.-APPR'D L-5" but no visible identifiable model number) COUNTER PLATFORM SCALE (cast iron with original japanning, tin grain/candy pan, cast iron weights and solid brass steelyard arm (0-40 lbs range)), from circa the late 19th or early 20th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. Very Good/VG+ antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall cosmetic wear from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Complete and fully functional. Last calibration sticker stamped in 1994. Accurately weighs our 40 lb. dumbbell. Pan has multiple small dings, dents, creases, etc. (see pics). Fantastic, rich patina to all materials throughout. Outstanding example!! See pics.
Measures approx. 23" long x 23" deep x 16" tall, overall, at largest points, including pan. Platform is 10-3/8" wide x 14" deep. Total weight is 34 lbs. 5.5 oz..
