Brilliant Hudson & Manhattan NY Railroad RR PATH Station Porcelain NO SPITTING Sign Cobalt-Baltimore Enamel & Novelty Co. "Spitting on the platforms or other parts of this station is unlawful offenders a liable to arrest." This is an incredible Porcelain over steel original RR station sign. We believe the original date code is 18. This number is on the back of the sign which states the date of manufacture of January 1908. This sign is in incredible shape. This was found behind a wall that was taken down during a renovation of an abandoned part of a tunnel. The sign was then framed to preserve it from any further damage. It was behind a wall safe from the elements for over 60 years. This is being sold as found. Please view the pictures to see the condition. It appears there is some porcelain damage in the corners. The cobalt is a very deep blue. There is almost no fading at all. There are a few surface scratches on the front. The back appears to be dented (not visible on the front) but it is a consistent pattern which leads us to believe it was manufactured that way. The back appears to be painted white. It was manufactured by Baltimore Enamel & Novelty Co. 190 West Broadway, NY From the Path rail history website: Check out our other great deals on antiques, tools, electronics, and other unique hard to find items
