Pocket Nail Plane/Chisel Gauge Type 1 1888-1906 Number 96 Vintage Antique
Stanley Number 96 Type 1 Chisel Gauge in great shape. The type ones were made from 1888-1906 Under Charles Mead's patent. They measure 2 1/4" long and are made out of steel with a nickel plated finish. They are and were used for inlay work. They peel up a 1/4" shaving so a small nail or screw can be secured, after which the shaving can be glued back down into place. This is a great example of a number 1. These are ultra rare and do not come up for sale that often. Please examine the photos carefully and closely. The photos clearly show the cosmetic condition of the item. We are very excited to have this in the store but it is time for someone else to own it.
