This tasting antique spoon is from the early 19th century blacksmith made spoon dating circa 1790-1840. These spoons are referred to as tasting spoons as they are meant for just that. The small shallow bowl is inserted into a pot or kettle to taste the food that was being prepared. It measures approx 18" long.
