ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Being offered for sale is the VERY RARE vintage BRASS DOG FINIAL / ORNAMENT / TOPPER marked "DODGE N.J. 1950-1" (at underside, see last pic), possibly/most likely by "GLADYS BROWN" for DODGE MFG. CO., of New Jersey, from circa the mid 20th century (best guess based on the marked 1950 number and many multiple like-items by Gladys Brown/Dodge Mfg. Co.), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.

CONDITION NOTES:

There are a dozen or so tiny/small chips/flakes of the original gold(?) plating throughout (right ear, all feet, one at each side of body/torso and a few others). ALL ARE PLAINLY VISIBLE IN THE PICTURES. Otherwise, in excellent vintage condition with just minor/light overall cosmetic wear to be expected with a piece of its age. We see NO break or repairs. Features very nice, light patina throughout. See pics.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:

Measures 5-3/4" tall, overall. Dog is 3-1/2" tall x 3-7/8" long x  1-1/8" thick. Bottom is approx. 2-1/4" diameter. Outer edge of treads of attachment screw measures 1/4" diameter. Weighs 2 lbs. 4.0  oz..
