ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Being offered for sale is the vintage/antique UNBRANDED (no visible maker's mark(s)) AXE MATTOCKS (also called a Pulaski and often misidentified as a Post Axe and/or Mortising Axe - but the axe mattocks was born out of forest firefighting needs and later found useful for farm cutting purposes - see last picture for image from 'Dictionary of American Hand Tools' by Alvin Sellins), from circa the early to mid 20th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.

CONDITION NOTES:
Very Good/VG+ vintage condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear throughout but NO breaks or repairs. Both DOUBLE-BEVELED blade edges are dull. Handle is solid & strong. It is locked in nice & tight with ZERO play/wobble. Superb patina throughout. Very unusual/unique example! Ready to use or proudly display!! See pics.
DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:
Measures 33-5/8" long, overall. Axe head is 13-7/8" wide x 2-1/4" tall (at center of eye) x 15/16" deep/thick (also at center of eye). Axe edge is 2-1/8" long and opposite blade edge is 2-1/4" long.
Total weight is 4 lbs. 1.5 oz..
