1 In stock

Axes, Hatchets

Being offered for sale is the vintage/antique NORLUND HUDSON BAY-STYLE, HIKING/HUNTING/CAMPING HATCHET and/or THROWING AXE HEAD (only - NO handle) from Europe (best guess), circa the early -to- mid 20th century (best guess - possibly a little older), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!

Good vintage/antique condition with moderate -to- severe overall wear from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Blade pretty sharp but could certainly use a fresh sharpening before any practical use. NO nicks. Some original/old orange paint/japanning remains. Maker's stamp is clearly visible but lacks enough detail to make it out. Looks like a standing bird or a profile of a person holding a bag over their shoulder but could be something else completely. The number "600" is legible underneath (represents the head weight of 600 grams - though the actual weight is 615 grams). Features superbly rich patina throughout. Nice example of a rare hatchet head with outstanding eye-appeal. See pics.

Measures 5-7/8" wide, blade -to- butt. Blade is 3-7/8" long, tip -to- tip. Weighs 1 lb. 5.6 oz. (615 grams).
