Being offered for sale is the antique EAGLE LOCK CO. WOODEN SALESMAN CHEST / SAMPLE and/or TOOL BOX with custom/homemade TRAY INSERT that features a GRANGER TOBACCO SIGN as base (see pics), from circa the late 19th or early 20th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
Good/VG antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear, with the worst damage at right side panel (see last 2 pics). Remains structurally rigid & strong. Front panel was constructed upside-down (safe to assume this was a factory worker's error - see pictures 5, 6, 8 & 9). The rear panel (which is more vibrant and clearly visible compared to the hard to see front panel) was constructed correctly. The divided space wood & metal tray insert looks to be custom/homemade and made use of a vintage "GRANGER ROUGH CUT COOL MILD" tobacco sign as the base (see 1st & 3rd pics). Chest is lockable with addition of a padlock (not included). Outstanding, rich patina throughout. Great example of a very seldom seen Eagle Lock Co. collectible piece!! See pics.
Measures 32" wide x 13" deep x 11-1/2" tall. Weighs 21 lbs. 10.5 oz..
