Magnifying Glasses
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Being offered for sale is the antique BRASS (plated with nickel, we believe) FOLDING LOUPE / TRAVEL / POCKET MAGNIFYING GLASS by unknown maker (only marked "GERMANY") in original LEATHER CASE (marked "PENN WORSTED CO. PHILADELPHIA" (presumably the case manufacturer) & "CHARLES AMES" (presumably the original/previous owner), from circa the early 20th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
CONDITION NOTES:
Loupe is in Very Good/VG+ antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear (virtually all of the original nickel(?) plating remains - almost missed that it was made of brass) but we see NO breaks or repairs. The original leather case on the other hand, is quite worn. Missing snap-button (flat does NOT stay closed) and has a sizable hole at bottom-right corner (see pics). While the leather is on the brittle-side, it is NOT overly fragile - that is to say it does not constantly deteriorate when handled (though handling with care is certainly advised). See pics.
DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:
Please see ruler in pictures for size/scale reference. Additional measurements shall be provided upon request. Total weight in case is 2.6 oz..
GENERAL NOTE: If you are viewing this on a mobile phone or tablet and the pictures are blurry when you zoom in, be sure to check that your browser is set to "Full Website Version", as the mobile browsers often reduce image quality in favor of speed. Our pictures are high resolution and always in focus. Best viewed using a computer with a nice big monitor.
