CARPENTER'S TOOL BOX / WOOD SAW CHEST (featuring (3) carved wood saw-slots at interior, brass side handles, hinges, lock & escutcheon and steel lid-chain & snap latches), with unknown origin (no visible maker's mark(s) - most likely american) from circa the late 19th or early 20th century (best guess...possibly older), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
Good/VG antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear from normal use over the years (i.e. small scuffs, scratches, stains, dings, dents, etc.) but NO major breaks or repairs. Crack/split at lid (see green arrows in 5th pic) and another at base (see last pic) - both are cosmetic only. Box remains structurally rigid & ultra strong. Brass side handles and hinges are tight & strong. Both steel latches (with brass-finish) are fully functional and snap shut nice & tight. Lock is most likely operational but NO key included. Steel chain holds strong. Superbly rich patina to all materials throughout. Gorgeous old chest with no shortage of character!! See pics.
