ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Being offered for sale is the vintage/antique METAL PROTRACTOR TECHNICAL DRAWING / DRAFTING TOOL by "T. ALTENEDER" (incised on tool AND original sticker at inner lid of case - see 5th pic) of Philadelphia, PA, from circa the early -to- mid 20th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
CONDITION NOTES:
Tool is in Good/Very Good antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear from normal use over the years but we see NO breaks or repairs. Fully functional tool. Box however is in rough shape. Hinges are failing/are fragile and this is making the latching system malfunction. You're able to get it to latch closed but it takes a fair amount of pressure on the hinge-side to push the hooks into place. Exterior has moderate -to- severe cosmetic blemishes throughout. Areas of peeling. Inner felt is pretty clean but also has wear. Inner-lid lining is loosely held in place by pressure only (handwritten "1895" at under side of wooden lid - see 6th pic). Still, the box remains structurally rigid & strong. See pics.
DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:
Please see ruler in pictures for size/scale reference. Additional measurements shall be provided upon request. Box measures 14-1/2" wide x 6-3/4" deep x 1" thick/tall.
Total weight in box is 2 lbs. 6.0 oz..
