Being offered for sale is the antique seldom seen "RAMSEY PATTERN" (see last pic for reference) BROAD / HEWING AXE (head only - NO handle included) by unknown maker (no identifiable maker's mark(s) - just the "7" indicating its 7 lb. weight, we presume), from circa the mid -to- late 19th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. CONDITION NOTES:
Good/VG antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear throughout (small/minor dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, stains, pitting, etc.) from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Blade is beveled at one side only and has multiple nicks along the moderately sharp edge. A smoothing/fresh sharpening may be advisable prior to practical use. Perfect as-is for collection/display purposes. Killer old broad axe!! See pics.

Measures 11-1/4" tall (at blade edge) x 8-3/4" wide (blade to butt) x 7/8" thick (at poll) & 1-1/8" thick (at outside edge of axe-eye). Weighs 6 lbs. 13.0 oz. (originally weighed 7 lbs, before years of sharpening).
