Being offered for sale is the antique FIRMER CHISEL by DAVID R. BARTON & CO. (stamped "D.R. BARTON" over "ROCHESTER" at top of blade, see 2nd pic) of Rochester, NY (located at 136 Mill Street during time of this chisel's manufacturing), from circa 1849-1874 (company's years of operation as per info found at davistownmuseum.org/bioBarton.html), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. CONDITION NOTES:

Very Good/VG+ antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear (small dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, stains, etc.) throughout from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Lightly cleaned using wire-wheel, so virtually zero rust and only small areas of very minor pitting throughout. Handle is solid & strong and firmly attached. Blade many tiny nicks but remains very sharpSee pics.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:

Measures 17-3/8" long, overall. Blade is 15/16" wide x 12-7/8" long, blade edge to socket end. Handle grip is 4-1/4" long x 1-3/8" diameter, at fattest. Weighs 1 lb. 11.0 oz..
