Being offered for sale is the VERY RARE antique CAST IRON JEWELER'S / WATCHMAKER'S / TINSMITH / SILVERSMITH / SMALL SIZE ANVIL by HAMMACHER SCHLEMMER (embossed "H.S. & CO." at top (and incised "20" at underside)) of "209 BOWERY, NEW YORK" (also embossed at top), from circa the late 19th or very early 20th century (no earlier than 1883 and no later than 1904, as per our in-depth research, which included searching old H.S. & Co. catalogs that we have at our disposal and a phone call conversation with a representative at the current H.S. & Co.
