Boxes
Being offered for sale is the vintage/antique "UNION MADE" WOODEN CHEST / TOOL BOX (original, intended use unknown...lockable but NO lock included) with STEEL CORNER BRACKETS, IRON LATCH & HANDLES and BRASS LID-CHAIN, from circa the early -to- mid 20th century (best guess..."UNION MADE" stamps have a dates on them but all we can make out is "MAY 12, 19XX", the last two digit are illegible on both stamped spots (see 4th pic)), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
Very Good/VG+ vintage/antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear but NO major breaks or repairs. The bottom has a wood knot that has broken up into multiple pieces (see red arrows in 5th, 11th & 12 pictures). All pieces are present but all are also loose to the point that if you were to push one out, the rest would fall as well. Kind of a neat, unusual feature to this box but to prevent loosing one or more pieces, you'd want to glue them in place (we leave this up to you). Also, one of the hard plastic disc-feet is cracked (see green arrow in 11th pic). Hinges and handles are strong. Handles have original/old japanning. Corner brackets are all very clean with no rust. Latch is fully functional and with the addition of a padlock (not included), the box is lockable. Fantastic patina throughout. See pics.
Measures 31-1/4" wide x 12-1/2" tall x 12-5/8" deep. Weighs 33 lbs. 6.5 oz..
