Broken at quick-release hinge connection (see red arrows in 4th & 5th pics). While this is unfortunate and might be a bit of a pain in the ass, it would seem that it doesn't really affect the functionality of this steady rest because when closed up tight, the break becomes irrelevant and the tool remains fully functional. Aside from the break, it is in Good/Very Good vintage condition with moderate overall cosmetic wear from normal use over the years. All three adjustment knobs spin smooth, with ease. The 4th knob also screws smooth and ultra tight. Superb patina throughout. See pics.
